Horizon West spreads south of Winter Garden as one of the region's largest planned communities, roughly seven miles from Oakland.
Nearly everything standing went up in the last twenty years, so the equipment is modern and consistent: heat pumps with resistance strips, air handlers on attic platforms, duct systems engineered rather than pieced together.
Modern is not the same as reachable. An attic air handler means a filter in a ceiling grille, a condensate line travelling above finished rooms, and a float switch that shuts the whole system down when the drain backs up. A system that quits on a humid afternoon is often reporting a blocked drain, not a failed compressor.
The failure list reads differently from the historic core as well. Sequencers and control boards stand where pilot assemblies and thermocouples once did, and a board that has lost a leg will spin the fan with no heat behind it. Around Hamlin and the town centres, a tripped float switch deserves to be understood before it is reset a fourth time, since resetting clears the symptom and leaves the standing water in the pan. Orange County handles permitting for the unincorporated portions.
